Callie's Birthday

Today is Cal's birthday. So we are no longer the same age. Cal's now the grand old age of 24. That's okay, though.
I had a hard time sleeping out of excitement to give Callie her gifts. I actually got her up way too early, too. It reminded me of Christmases growing up. You know the feeling. You can go to sleep, but it takes FOREVER. And then you wake up around 3 in the morning and just toss and turn.
I got up and wrapped her presents and made her some oatmeal and hot chocolate. Tonight, we'll go to dinner at Cafe Rio. Yes, we do go to Cafe Rio often, but we do because it's SO good and it's our favorite.
Here are some pictures of what I got for her.

The hat and the scarf I actually got for her are a little different than the ones I have pictures of. Apparently, Forever 21 isn't selling those any more.
My favorite thing I got for her was her missionary plaque. It took some work to find out how to get one that matches the one I have, but thanks to my dad I was able to come up with it. Callie loved her mission. So I wanted to give her this as acknowledgment of her amazing service.
I love you, Cal.
Happy Birthday.

Our Humble Abode

So here are pictures of our little apartment...finally. Though our place looked a little shady when we found it, we both love it now. It is so cozy and comfortable. Pretty much everything in the apartment was either a wedding gift, or was bought with wedding money. Thanks everyone!

We're a little tight for space in the bedroom, but it all fits!

Wes's parents gave us almost all of the furniture we have. That was so generous of them.

I walked into the room a couple weeks ago, and this is how Wes was studying. We are saving ourselves some money and going without heat as long as we can, so it gets a little chilly in our apartment sometimes! ha. It really isn't too bad.
